ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Montréal and am now a happy Canadian transplant living on Seattle’s Eastside. I speak French with my girls as a way to share a part of their roots and help them understand the threads that have shaped our family. Discovering the beauty of another language is a bonus.

When I’m not behind the camera you might find me in a dance-off with my daughters, salsa dancing at Alki Beach, or escaping the daily hustle in my happy place, Puerto Vallarta - a spot that helps me to recharge.

Although music found me ridiculously late in life - I’m so happy it did. I now get to be the singing drummer in a local cover rock band. Once a month, you’ll find us playing at a little dive bar in Redmond - come by and say hi! My girls have caught the music bug too, rocking out in their own kid band.

Family is my compass ♡
My daughters are growing up faster than I can believe. They’re my daily reminder to slow down, be present and live a deeply meaningful life.

Before starting Maë Lans Photography, my path looked a little different. I studied biomedical engineering where I simulated ultrasound systems to better understand carotid-artery diagnostics. Later, I was fortunate to work at Microsoft on HoloLens and mixed-reality technology.

Whether through sound waves, virtual worlds, or golden light, I remain fascinated by how we see and feel connection. Photography has become the most human expression of that same curiosity and guides me daily.
